A 19th century Lai Nam Thong spittoon used by royalty for betel chewing with a round body and a broad, splaying mouth. The body is decorated with a gold and red trellis pattern on a white background, a white band of interlocking knots at the mouth and the lower body, a solid green band around the foot and at the mouth. The plate-like mouth is decorated with Chinese-influenced a red circular coin design connected by a gold criss-cross pattern on a bright green background. The interior is white glazed with a gold band of exotic cotton leaf pattern at the mouth
