Bencharong (000077) [bj_281] Covered bowl, diam=27 The Jim Thompson Museum Collection

A late 19th century bowl with an everted rim and cover. The white background is flamboyantly decorated with red flowers, green leaves and black birds and mountains with bands of blue crisscross pattern around the foot and rim of the cover. A band of red with sugar-cane-eye pattern surrounds the cover. The inside of the rim on the cover is red. The interior is white glazed and undecorated.
