A late 19th century water (“toh”) jar with lovely decoration inspired by the famille rose palette. It includes tall, vertical lotus-shaped medallions of red, yellow, and pink filled with a floral pattern from the Himaphan forest alternating with red flowers and pink floral blooms on a pale turquoise background; broad bands of pink lotus petals and solid turquoise bands at the mouth and lower body; a solid red band at the foot and the splayed, pedestal foot has a yellow band with green, blue and white flowers and geometrics; a white ring around the foot is visible. The cover projects from the top of the jar with a flat rim decorated with a pink band of lotus petals; the remainder of the top comprises two bulbous tiers (one yellow and one turquoise) and a lotus bud red knob.
