A 19th century water (“toh) jar with Chinese-inspired decoration that is the same on the body and the cover. Both are divided into vertical ribs. The motif of pink, blue, white, and orange butterflies is scattered around the body randomly. It looks as if the butterflies are in flight. An intricate twisting stem pattern in green in painted over a gold background. A solid green band covers the foot and the knob on the cover, which is shaped like a broad cup. An eroded gold band surrounds the lip of the cover.
