A mid-19th century water (“toh”) jar with a cover. The central motif comprises Thevadas (minor Buddhist deities) alternating with green medallions with a white and yellow flower pattern, a frame and twisting stem motif of the same colors on an orange background, a broad green band with an abstract floral motif at the mouth and lower body, a solid white-cream band at the mouth rim, a red band divided by a green ring at the foot with visible traces of white glaze. The cover has an everted rim and a flat white knob with Thepanoms and red medallions on a green background. |
