A 19th century covered bowl. The bowl is decorated with brown medallions and an European-like white frame with a pink blooming lotus; the all-over design is a graceful orange flower with a green stem alternating with gold vertical bands of a floral design on a black background; triangles formed with white ribbons and a gold flower are spaced around the mouth of the bowl; a black band of alternating flower motifs around the upper body and a blue band with a floral scroll around the mouth and foot of the bowl. The cover is decorated with: a red medallion, a light green frame, and a blooming jasmine interspersed with orange flowers and green leaves on a black background; a black band of alternating flower motifs around the base of the neck and the mouth; a band of blue with a sketchy motif around the top of the cover. The top of the cover ad the mouth of the bowl are banded in metal.
