Jar; ht. 14.3 cm; last half 11th century; brown monochrome. Oval-shaped with curved walls, a broad shoulder, a short, constricted neck, and a wide mouth with a thick rolled rim; carved ridges around neck and lower body; band with wave motif and horizontal rings on shoulder; body is divided into sections by vertical lines in series of six. Grey clay; brown glaze with olive tinges and flaking. |
