| Jar; ht. 12.5 cm; mid-11th century; green monochrome. With a round, flattened body, gently curving walls, a broad sloping shoulder, wide mouth, and pedestal; hollow base; carved rings around shoulder, mouth and pedestal; ring of incised jab marks between rings on shoulder; short, vertical, carved lines in groups of three divide the body into sections; a 'V’ motif fills each section. Buff clay; crazed yellow glaze with bluish tinges where it pools. |
