A princess sitting gracefully under a porch of a royal building with a betel set on the left. For a close-up view of the betel set, click here. This scene is depicted on the doors of the ordination hall at Wat Phra Jetapon, popularly known as Wat Po, Bangkok’s oldest and largest temple. The doors are decorated in mother-of-pearl, a method also used for betel boxes both in Thailand and Vietnam. Pearl chips are inlaid on to a dark background.
