A 20th century red and black lacquer cylindrical box for betel chewing ingredients (H=14 cm) (interior of photo #000064). The interior of a typical lacquer box made in Myanmar is fitted with two trays—one with small containers for the various ingredients and a pair of cutters; the other one for tobacco leaves. Betel leaves are stored in the bottom of the box.
